Our entire nation and the world has been watching IPL since a year, like my friends at college say this has become the only form of entertainment at such boring times. We youngsters are at a certain time of our life bored of tv,internet, cell phones, movies and studies never interested us much (but we all took it as our duty),IPL did come to our rescue in such times.
Personally i was hoping Chennai Super kings or the Mumbai Indians team wins, because of my idol worshipping of Dhoni and the love for amchi Mumbai. But both the teams didn't see the light of the ay and didn't enter the finals.
RCB did enter the finals by fluke and had a pretty much roller coaster ride in the finals.Bangalore’s road to the finals could well be attributed to Anil Kumble’s leadership and performance with the ball. The first half was really well played,I almost hoped for a win but the last half an hour or 45 mins of the match seemed exhausting. The points table turned and so did the fortunes.
In a cracker of a match, Deccan Chargers outclassed and outplayed Royal Challengers Bangalore in the finals of the second edition of the DLF IPL in Johannesburg.Seeing wicket after wicket fall was no fun for a room full of hostel girls cheering the RCB team to win.Every 6 and four was accompanied by whistles and ear hurting screeches (hooting to be clear ).The First year girls have an exam tomorrow morning and the second years have an exam the day after, but they were happily sitting right in front of the tv enjoying the match as if they were a part of the RCB team itself.Uttapa was literally acting like a ball has never been tossed at him or he was confused whether he had to bat or go ahead and catch the ball.A few balls were wasted at this mighty Uttapa Dosa.As the match was progressing the hopes of winning the match were diminishing at a speed greater than light. But still we stood on till the last ball to salute our team for reaching the finals and giving it a good try.8 runs for 1 ball read the scoreboard and i had girls around me still expecting a miracle, they said "1 no ball,1 wide, and a six and another run would make us win!!! oh god please!!!". This is called as heights of optimism. The match over and lost I came back to my room to continue with my preparation for my final project demo tomorrow.
This was the time I remembered, I haven't seen the blog of the Fake IPL Player in a while, wonder what he must've posted after the IPL has seen its end.I came across this http://fakeiplplayer.blogspot.com/2009/05/awards-night-and-farewell.html
He is as entertaining as ever, considering the popularity of the blog,he cannot be left out whenever anything has been written about IPL.He has a sense of humour,a writing style, and a passion for various things cricket, writing and being in the limelight. His fan following is crazy people who compete on being the first one to comment,"yippeee... i'm the 6th to comment", "I am 7th......WOw!" "hEY I AM IN TOP 10 COMMENTS".Oh the craze and the people.
One thing I would like to point out.
Lalit Modi has donated millions to South African Schools and Charity organizations from the IPL money and they were showing this good work on screen also.
I want to ask how much has he donated to Indian Schools and Indian Charity organizations from the IPL money. I haven't seen any donations in last year of IPL tournament.
Isn't this a double standard of BCCI.
SRK was embarrassed,Pretty Preity was in for a rude shock and so were we witnessing her breakup in between the IPL proceedings and her team didn't make it anywhere great this year around.AmbaniThe last half an hour of today's match saw Vijay Mallya:King of Good times being depressed and speechless during the final downfall of his cherished team.Good Luck to everyone next year.Who stood last in the first edition of the IPL have emerged victorious in the latest edition. Congratulations to Deccan Chargers for this spectacular victory.
Three cheers to Cricket,to IPL,to all the teams and its owners,to our dear Rahul Dravid,Anil Kumble,Pandey and Mallya Uncle and three cheers to the winners Gilli,R.P Singh, owners Deccan Chronicle and the entire Hyderabad Deccan Chargers team.Keep Raging.

hmm...good to see at least one girl likes cricket (not counting mandira bedi that is). but may I point out that RCB winning was no 'fluke', in fact though they lost today they are still the most disciplined 20-20 team ever seen.
Good writing.

A nice blog Priyanka :)
Yeah the IPL has succeeded in taking away some time from the younger generation's life which always unassumingly involves cellphones, emails, chatting and mc'donalds etc....Even i find the IPL a welcome break where i am able to get away from the day to day bruahaha....
I was irked to see that you didnt expect or want bangalore royal chalengers to win....because i was supporting KKR anf RC from the beginning..
anyways.....your blog makes a nice read....and yeah i have been following fakeiplplayer blog too....i posted numerous comments there...
Hi Pritanka !!
IPL was not so entusiastic..but FIP made it more interesting..Infact his blogs were more interesting than the IPL...
I am now waiting for the big one T20 World Cup..
Nice views..
Keep writing
nice blog priyanka.
u might pose a competition to FIP in near future :)
I think DC deserved to win the IPL more than anything else.
RCB entering finals was itself a fluke, much like RR winning the title last year.
thank u all for d encouragement... :)
wow !!
Really I m too quite overly optimistic . I was also expecting in the same way 1 no ball, another one free hit and a six and another run would make us win .
also my project viva's documentation was going on !!
your blog has charm to read. I've been following FIP's blog too. got your profile from there
warm regard jay
wow !!! Bangalore dint land in the final because of fluke.. They performed all round. Unlike Dhoni, who said on judgement day, individual performances, do matter, Bangalore relied on all round performances, its sad that the last match dint go that well.
But not even once you can say Bangalore came by fluke, they attacked when it mattered most, they bowled well, when it was needed most, moreover it was a team effort headed by Indian boys, not like one-man shows.
just noticed in your profile that you have put Dharwad....I am from the same place as well :)
Not SDM college though...i studied in your rival college
I noticed in your profile that you are from dharwad.....Even i hail from the same place

@anonymous supporter of blore
I'm sure they did play well to reach the finals.. In a way nothing happens by fluke in this world..
Bingo :-) Yeah BVB college
I still remember the days of competition between our college and yours....I never missed a single annual function of your college (fantasia)during my 4 years of engg....Really miss those days now
Your blog seems to be attracting decent enough traffic....Good going priyanka....do have a look at some of my writings when u find time...tc
I seriously doubted that you are a girl while i started reading your blog.. eventuall when i read something about breakup i was well rudely reminded about the fact...
Still very very glad to see a girl who can talk about google, cricket and miss her bro(which reminds me of my sis)..
u rock ..keep the posts coming :)
@downpoursofwords
Fantasia was always fun to be a part of and to organise.. i dont hate ur college as such.. i did take part in the marathon organised by ur college and i completed the marathon too.. was gr8 fun.. :)
even i didnt hate your college....Its just that 'twinkle twinkle little star,SDM is a super star' and 'east or west,BVB is the best' slogans remind me of that cold war between the two colleges....
You completed marathon? Phew.....at first glance you dont look like completing one :-) kidding lol....
I partocularly liked your post about the rain, getting drenched n all.....good to see people are still there who look to catch life and its subtle moments of happiness in small ways....keep it up
thank u thank u.. ;)
i completed d marathon n somehow pestred my friends to complete it to... We did run and walk in between... but d best part was it took us all 2 days to walk properly without limping... Actually d next morning i couldn't move my feet.. he he..ah.. remembering the good old times.. i'll surely right about the marathon soon.. :)
I havent tried a marathon yet....it takes its toll on the body i know....but i have been part of long hours of peddling on bicycles to unknown destinations, not far enough though (<50 km)......it used to be fun
Downpourofwords is just a sort of pen name i use for anything i write....My name is Giridhar....
i too did that in my teen years when i stayed in goa... (i lived there for most of my life)
i was just about to ask ur name.. thanks giridhar.. :)
I can sense that Goan confidence in your words.....i have seen that people from Goa almost always have optimism levelled all over their presence and their actions...that goes right with you as well
You might not have noticed but i have sent out a request to add you to my gmail contacts......hope you dont mind blogmate :-)
i didnt get d request.....
nice one... But RCB won cos they were disciplined...
And u dint cheer the most happening ones on the ground....(or should i say off the ground!!)..yo baby..u missed out the cheerleaders..!!!
And i saw ur name in FIP's blog comments...And an interesting blog i must say!!!
thank u harsha....
YUp, am the anonymous supporter of bangalore, here's revealing myself..
r u basically from Dharwad or just studied over tehre?
i am studying in dharwad now..
i was @ Dharwad recently for a wedding, around 15 May, I just love the city, i ve some snaps on my page
and frankly speakin, I still can't hide my disappointment, coz of RCB not winning IPL, its like Bangalore losing not IPL but world cup for RCB fans.. it was in all ways a super team composition..
hats off to Anil Kumble
